assumptions

why do pple like to make assumptions?
i tink pple have to learn nt to make assumptions and presumptions.
and make a very conscious effort to put it into practice.
because they are evil.

is there really so much time to be angry and petty?
learn to let it go.
listen to the song by corrinne may "let it go" , it really speaks for itself.
life is jus way to short to stay angry and grumpy.
why cant pple be happier, smile more and see the better things in life?
are we all jus too caught up in this rat race?
or do we jus simply choose to ignore wads more important?
or do we jus choose to see things differently?
its always abt personal perceptions, perspectives or wadever.
carpe diem. just seize the day.

why cant pple focus their energy on smthg more productive?
do smthg to change your emotional state of mind.
difficult as it is, as i've jus said, it's all just a state of mind.
ur mind is the most powerful tool, so use it, command it.
everything is a choice.

how do u noe when ure taking or have taken someone for granted?
jus pause in ur tracks and think this.
close ur eyes and imagine the worst.
what would u do without this person in ur life?
what would happen to u if u nvr met or had dis person in ur life?
what happens if smthg untoward happens to that person?
how much does this person mean/matter to u?

always take time to appreciate pple.
they are the most fragile things in life.
thank God for my religion, if nt, i wud hv nvr learn this lesson,
which is,
if u can have a religion and claim you love God,
when God is intangible - u cant see him, hear him, touch him, smell him and taste him.
then how can u claim u love or appreciate someone so tangible in ur life?
pple shud ask themselves the question above.

nvr let ur emotions get the better of u.
i like to tink dat emotions r evil too.
control ur emotions with ur mind.
it's all in the mind.

try and be truly happy for a change.

DC in progress

fri sat and sun was spent at suntec city hall 401.
met lotsa friendly pple - coworkers - at this event by mediacorp publishing.
thanks to jas for her 'lobang'..
gained some insight into events. really isnt an easy task.
most of the "seasoned" part-timers were really pro in handling stress and managing the challenges thrown to them all at one go.

guess the event turned out fine eventually.
was really pack esp on sat n sun.
by sun i was really stoned.
time passed really quick when ure busy.
but of cos there were quiet periods too. those hrs seemed really boring n draggy but a colleague entertained all of us by "betting". haha.
it was really fun getting stamped on the cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, neck etc if u lose.

monday was a mad rush in sch.
even tho i managed to complete my wil2 assignments on time, i feel they r damn lousy work.
totally slipshot.
dats wad happens whn ure so stoned n tired.
my brain was 3/4 dead during wil2 mtg also..
poor alex was going on n on while i was lost n stoned.

all i noe is its time to panic cos work is piling up.
grp work.
3 more major assignments to go.
i mean MAJOR man.

lets hope we can pull this 1 thru agn. we're half way thru this sem.

yesterday's headlines on The Newpaper was about how a Spore girl gives birth at 9.
the father was from the same primary school and both come from well to do families.
what is the world coming to?
both the girl and boy would be 12 this year. and the child is 3yrs old.
this is sad news.
the boy is sent to reformative school while the girl is overseas in some regional country doing her PSLE this year.
ya they are both obviously minors and they were obviously way to young to have sex.
i seriously wonder how did it and how could it happen?
they are both 9!
so so young. guess they both matured really young.
my heart really goes out to them.
sincerely wish them well and hope they get on with life, grow up to be stronger people and hopefully they've learnt from this experience.

went for a walk wif dad after dnr jus nw to destress...
finally decided to spend $11.90 to purchase Leroy and Stitch
it is the latest vcd lilo and stitch!

cant wait to own my own stitch plush! =X
oh and also.. wanna collect the lilo and stitch vcds!
the original lilo and stitch movie and the second, stitch has a glitch!
ya ya ok ok my sis says i'm reliving my childhood. oh well cant help it! haa!

i must say they r all so inspiring and touching. must learn to have the aloha spirit and understand the importance of ohana. =)

first submission of 2007

mon, 260207 will mark the 1st submission of assignment for me.
my HRM individual topic paper.
duno y but i'm feeling unprepared and nervous.
hv i been inadequate?
i'm wondering if my rpt is of gd standard.
duno nuts abt HRM. but i noe i did my best of all tt i've understood so far.
jus hope it'll be up to the marker's standard.
hoping to get a D for it. *keeping fingers crossed*
but results will only be out end April thereabouts...
so nw its left with reading thru and editing before i print it on sunday.
monday is gonna be a pack day. hoping for the best.
the week ahead's gonna be a long one. esp wif work on thurs thru to sunday.

CNY week

this week covers both the overrated Vday and the relatively underrated CNY
does anyone feel the CNY spirit? haha

just read an article abt how Singapore orgs lack innovation and risk-takers.
absolutely agree with this article.
it even provides top 10 strategies for orgs to move away from such problems and innovate themselves to embrace the new workforce.
as the new generations arise to take on local and global challenges,
i believe that orgs locally need to readjust themselves and learn to cope not jus business wise but also how to better manage its pple.
human resource.. humans as a resource to the org or humans as a relation to the org.
there is a vast difference in that statement.
in my lessons so far, i'm realising the increasing importance of time mgmt and pple mgmt.
managing pple is always the right way to go.
are you productivity oriented or pple oriented?
true, there must be a balance. but isnt it always better to win pple over 1st.
smart pple hire smarter pple to work for them.
local bosses need to learn to manage risk as risk is inevitible in businesses. learn to manage it, not avoid it. u wont get anywhere dat way.
work environment is vital too for pple to feel creativity.
jus like leadership, creativity can be nurtured as well. not everyone is jus born naturally smart or naturally talented. some r very lucky, but nt all.
therefore it is important to share skills and knowledge and always be ready and willing to pick up new things.
seeing pictures frm inside the office of Ogilvy - South Korea, it has come to my realisation that work environments r trully important in encouraging the constant flow of ideas.
ideas are meant to be worked on and nt jus trampled and disregarded.
large spaces for pple to interact with comfy cushions and carpets, wif cafes and bars in the office will make it so much easier for pple to have meetings in a not so up tight manner such as the boardroom.
perhaps some particular industries which require less creative pple can still stick to the old boring mundane board room idea.
however in the field of mktg, advertising, perhaps even hospitality and tourism, even engineering sometimes cud use some interesting ways to conduct their meetings.
in a more relaxed environment.

hopefully singapore will gear ourselves towards having a more gracious and open society.
we need to work on open communication and feed back so as to be able to improve and innovate.
move away from being too "Asian".. the whole hierarchy idea and 'who's the boss' work culture.
